Opened Eyes is a first-person psychological horror game where the greatest danger isn’t what lurks in the dark—but what appears when you look directly at it.

You play as an unnamed protagonist who wakes up in an abandoned medical complex with their eyes forcibly stitched open by an unknown procedure. Blinking is impossible. Darkness doesn’t protect you—closing your eyes would have. As you explore flickering hallways, rotting patient rooms, and impossible spaces that rearrange themselves when unseen, the game tracks where you focus your vision. Some entities only move when you look at them. Others only exist because you looked.

The core mechanic revolves around vision and attention. Staring too long at certain objects causes them to distort, breathe, or whisper secrets that alter the environment. Looking away can be just as dangerous—sounds grow closer, footsteps echo, and something begins to learn your habits. Mirrors lie. Security cameras show moments that haven’t happened yet. The pause menu isn’t safe.

There is no combat. Survival depends on managing your gaze, interpreting subtle visual cues, and deciding when to confront the horrors head-on—or pretend you never saw them at all. The story unfolds through environmental details, corrupted medical logs, and brief moments where the game addresses the player directly, questioning whether you’re still in control.

By the end, Opened Eyes asks a single unsettling question:
